Joker racer is originally intended to realize the Internet car racing using radio-controlled cars. The size of our prototype is 1/10 of the real car, and we employed a small linux server to take control over this small car. All the devices on this car is controllable from the linux server, using very simple web-based interface, which means anyone in the world can drive this car from their browser.
The real-time streaming images from the on-board web cam makes it possible to make you feel like “driving” a car.
This car is also equipped with GPS system, which makes it possible to keep track of the location of the car.
By using this GPS feature, we can use this car not only for racing on the small tracks, but also making a guide in the places like zoo or whatever – makes you feel like traveling around at home.
We are planning to open the specification of this linux box and provide a platform software with portal web service to make all linux boxes searchable, controllable and visualizable on the Internet.
