Combining the web and geo location in smart phones is one most powerful technology combinations in software development today. Moving your web application to a mobile device is quick and easy using open source web technologies.
In this talk you’ll learn how to move your web app to the modern smart phones including the iPhone, Android, Blackberry and Nokia phones. Using nothing more than HTML, JavaScript and PhoneGap you’ll be able to make your web apps location aware by the end of this session.
Dave is a co-founder of Nitobi, a software consultancy in Vancouver, Canada. He holds a BASc in Electrical Engineering (UBC) and a PhD in Solid State Physics from London’s Imperial College. While his primary role is advising on technical direction at Nitobi, Dave is comfortable doing anything from support to quality assurance. Dave has presented at various conferences, including CommunityOne 2007/8, The Ajax Experience 2007, XTech 2007 and JavaOne 2007. He is a co-author of “Enterprise Ajax” and has written for numerous journals and magazines including JavaWorld.com, Adobe Developer Center and XML.co
