Invention and innovation in the geo and location fields is nothing new, it’s been going on for thousands of years. But while you may have faced financial and technical hurdles in making your geo-related idea a reality, there’s a pretty good chance you didn’t have to contend with some of the problems earlier geo-pioneers dealt with (like elephant attack or being declared a heretic). History of science junkie Chris Spurgeon returns to Where2.0 with more true historical tales of cartographic cleverness and derring-do.
By day Chris Spurgeon is a web developer for The Walt Disney Company. By night he mucks about with obsolete technologies, delves into the odd corners of the history of science and technology, and maintains a blog called Spurgeonworld focusing on the places where art and science meet.
