Gina Poole is VP of Social Software Programs & Enablement, and SWG Web Marketing & Sales. She has worldwide responsibility for creating and optimizing programs that use IBM social software offerings and technologies to drive innovation and collaboration. She is charged with establishing SWG as the showcase for the benefits of social computing. In addition, Gina is responsible for IBM Software web marketing and online sales. She leads a worldwide team to deliver IBM’s software web presence, web marketing tactics including social media marketing, and web-based sales channels.

Gina’s previous roles included: VP, Innovation & University Relations leading IBM’s ww university programs and innovation programs incl, ThinkPlace, VP, Developer Communiities including developerWorks & alphaWorks, and additional roles leading emerging technology teams (Java), division level strategy & operations, SW development and test.

IBM Emerging Internet Technologies

Rod Smith is an IBM fellow and Vice President of the IBM Emerging Internet Technologies organization, where he leads a group of highly technical innovators who are developing solutions to help businesses realize the value of Web 2.0 to the enterprise. In his many years in the industry Rod has moved IBM – and the IT community – to a rapid adoption of technologies such as Web services, XML, Linux, J2EE, and various wireless standards. As an IBM Fellow, Rod is helping lead IBM’s strategic planning around Web 2.0 technologies and practices, with a focus on how these technologies can bring real business value to IBM’s customers.
