What do we mean by “eBooks,” and who’s interested in reading them? Big names like Amazon and Sony have revitalized interest in specialized eBook reading devices, and more and more well-known publishers are making titles available for eBook-reading programs that run on general-purpose PCs. What formats are they using? What standards are available? Why use a specialized eBook reading device? How can publishers position themselves to take advantage of this growing market? We’ll address these questions and look at some case studies.
