With over 1500 apps created each week, Heroku has many amazing apps deployed. In this talk, we will feature 3 interesting applications spanning the typical use case specturm, from iPhone backends to facebook games to enterprise social platforms. We will walk through some of the technical details of how these apps work on Heroku, and show you how they handle the scale and technical development challenges.

We’ll dive into the Heroku add-ons including memcahed by Northscale, New Relic and see how these apps monitor and scale their performance with millions of users. We’ll cover best practices for application development. Open Q&A at the end.

Oren Teich is responsible for product management at Heroku. For over 11 years he’s been focused on making developing and deploying applications a better experience. Prior to Heroku, Oren worked with various tech companies such as Sun Microsystems, MontaVista Software, Cobalt Networks and Replicate Technology.

Morten Bagai

Heroku

Born in Denmark, Morten has decade of experience in software consulting. After a few years in sunny California, he traded in his code editor for the (sometimes daunting) task of managing the team of coding ninjas at Bitscribe. Morten now runs business development at Heroku.
