Making Rails really RESTful with Restfulie
Mapping CRUD operations to friendly URLs is hardly the end of the story around Restful. We came a long way since Roy Fielding seminal dissertation on REST. Inspired by Jim Webber, Savas Parastatidis and Ian Robinson upcoming book on REST, Hypermedia and HATEOAS (Hypermedia as the Engine of Application State), we came down to the “Restfulie” gem. The goal is to make it really easy to create rich, hypermedia aware resources. We can get our Rails applications and add a new layer of hypermedia to make them even more expressive and easy to communicate with. It is SOA without all the bloat, for pragmatic programmers. Restfulie was made possible thanks to Guilherme Silveira and Caue Guerra.
