Virtualization is taking the world by storm, with many datacenters now going virtual and continuous advancements in cloud computing by Amazon, Google, and others. This presentation aims to introduce the ideas and benefits of virtualization for both development and deployment. Learn how to create your own virtual component libraries and how to run a quickly reproducible environment by using virtualization. Local development and deployment using VMWare Elastic Servers with capistrano, and deployment to the Amazon EC2 cloud using the Elastic Server component libraries will be discussed.
