OpenSolaris Source Juicer: Discussing Cloud-based Community Software Development
The open source movement was empowered by the expansion of the collaborative capabilities of the Internet. Over time we progressed from email and usenet (where Linus’s famous message appeared) to development using community tools such as subversion, git, bugzilla and launchpad. Opensource developers are now in a position to take full advantage of the social web as well as cloud computing. This BOF will discuss OpenSolaris Source Juicer as one example of a web service for software centric collaboration and cloud-based package development. I will discuss the capabilities of this new system as well as future possibilities for collaborative cloud computing.
