Conferences for Beginners Presentation [FILE]

This session is an introduction to the culture of OSCON, which can involve a lot more than just attending sessions. There are many different resources for following OSCON, from Twitter to IRC to blog feeds of the many people attending, and these will all be covered.

In addition, many of the people who make open source work are at OSCON and are open to meeting new people. They key is knowing how to approach them and how not to (hint: they are people just like you).

In short, this session will attempt to prepare first-time attendees for how OSCON is different from many other types of conferences.
