OSCON 2009 will be held at The San Jose McEnery Convention Center, CA. Please visit the Hotel & Travel page for reservations, directions, and parking information.

Registration for attendees, sponsors, exhibitors, and media is located on Concourse 1.
The Expo Hall will feature dozens of exhibitors showcasing the latest emerging technologies surrounding open source technology, products and services. The Expo Hall is located Exhibit Hall 1
Enter the OSCON 2009 Passport Program. Enter to Win Cool Prizes via the 2009 OSCON Passport Program! OSCON attendees will have the opportunity to have an "OSCON Passport" brochure stamped at each participating sponsor and exhibitor booth. Once attendees have obtained all "stamps," they can turn in their passport to the O'Reilly booth to be entered into a drawing for cool prizes donated by OSCON sponsors. Have fun and good luck! Look for the passports at the entrance of the Expo Hall.

Lunch will be provided for OSCON attendees Monday-Thursday of the convention. Lunch will be served in the Exhibit Hall 2.

Wireless connectivity to the Internet will be available throughout the conference areas of The Fairmont. Internet access in your hotel room is available through the hotel for an additional fee.
Please take note that each user on the network is responsible for his or her own security. As this is an open network, you are advised to disable any open ports or shares you do not want exposed. For privacy, we recommend that you use a secure tunnel through a trusted server when accessing network services, such as email or web sites.
Half the value of attending OSCON is getting as much out of networking in the lobby as you do from the learning in the sessions. Join the OSCON Attendee Directory (log on may be required), where attendees can meet and connect.
If you are posting blogs and/or photos while you're at OSCON, tag 'em with "oscon.". If you are tweeting, don't forget the hashtag.
Make sure to rate each session or tutorial you attend! Your feedback will really help us plan future events. Go to any session detail page by clicking on the session's title from the OSCON schedule and rate it using the stars in the upper right hand corner.
Scroll to the bottom of the detail page to leave a public comment about the session and/or speaker, or post a question in advance. Note: you must be logged in to your O'Reilly Conference account to rate and comment on sessions at OSCON.
Help us improve next year's event! We'll be sending you an email with a link to an online evaluation form towards the end of the convention. Fill it out with your comments and suggestions and you'll be entered into a drawing to win a free pass to OSCON 2010.
Drop by the Connectivity Lounge if you need a place to recharge your battery and connect with the Internet, located in the Almaden Concourse by the entrance of the Hilton Hotel.
On Friday, we'll have a monitored "honor system" space for you to leave your bags near the Registration Area, on concourse 1. Please note that you must pick it up by 2:00 p.m.
Need to check in for your flight home and/or print your boarding pass? Stop by the printer kiosks in the Registration Area, on concourse 1.
There are lots of evening events happening during the conference. Check them all out and plan to mingle, meet and network while you are here.

OSCamp 2009, a community organized event designed to share and improve the essential skills required to participate in collaborative, free and open online projects. OSCamp attendance is free with an Expo Hall pass.

At the Sunlight Labs hackathon, Sunlight Labs will be working with developers on two major projects: 1. Parsing sites at for our 50 state project to get every state legislature in a common data format, and 2. Adding data into Sunlight's newest project, Congrelate.

Birds of a Feather (BoF) sessions provide face to face exposure to those interested in the same projects and concepts. BoFs can be organized for individual projects or broader topics (best practices, open data, standards). BoFs are entirely up to you. We post your topic online and onsite and provide the space and time. You provide the engaging topic. See the current list of scheduled BoF sessions.

Get your O'Reilly book signed while at OSCON. Visit the Expo Hall, in the Barnes & Noble Bookstore booth. See your favorite speaker or author and get their signature.
