Brian has spent his life working on the details of how to build and scale out systems. He is currently working on a new MicroKernel designed MySQL called Drizzle and is building the plumbing required for a new generation of large scale computer deployment. He also spends time working on Apache Modules, Memcached, and Gearman.
In the past, he has been involved with projects for the Army Engineer Corps, The VirtualHospital, Splunk, MySQL, Slashdot, and was a Distinguished Engineer at Sun Microsystems. He calls Seattle his home since that is where his dog Rosalynd is.
Before joining EnterpriseDB, Ed spent six years at Red Hat®, Inc., the world’s leading open source solutions provider, most recently serving as vice president and general manager of North America. Before that, he was vice president of Red Hat’s global OEM business, responsible for all partnerships, including HP®, IBM®, and Dell®. During his time at Red Hat, Ed was instrumental in developing the foundational methods for selling open source software into the enterprise.

Marten Mickos is CEO of Eucalyptus Systems, the company behind the Eucalyptus open source cloud platform. Previously Marten was CEO of MySQL AB for seven years and led the Database Group at Sun Microsystems.
Mickos holds a M.Sc. in technical physics from Helsinki University of Technology. He is a recipient of the Audemars Piguet “Changing Times Award: European Entrepreneur of the Year 2006” and the Nokia Foundation Award.

Bruce Momjian is a co-founder of the PostgreSQL Global Development Group, and has worked on PostgreSQL since 1996. He is the author of PostgreSQL: Introduction and Concepts, published by Addison-Wesley. Bruce is employed by EnterpriseDB. Previously, he was employed by SRA Japan and Great Bridge LLC, both PostgreSQL support companies. He has spoken at many international open-source conferences. Prior to his involvement with PostgreSQL, Bruce worked as a consultant, developing custom database applications for some of the world’s largest law firms. As an academic, Bruce was a high school computer science teacher for five years, holds a Masters in Education, and is currently an adjunct professor at Drexel University.
Michael Olson is currently CEO of Cloudera, the company delivering an enterprise-ready data management platform based on Apache Hadoop. He was formerly CEO of Sleepycat Software, makers of Berkeley DB, the open source embedded database engine. Mike spent two years at Oracle Corporation as Vice President for Embedded Technologies after Oracle’s acquisition of Sleepycat in 2006. Prior to joining Sleepycat, Mike held technical and business roles at database vendors Britton Lee, Illustra Information Technologies and Informix Software. Mike has Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Computer Science from the University of California at Berkeley.
Baron Schwartz is the Chief Performance Architect at Percona. He is the lead author of High Performance MySQL, and creator of Maatkit.
Tomas Ulin has been working with the MySQL Database team since 2003, and is currently employed by Oracle, based in Sweden. He is Vice President for the MySQL Engineering team, responsible for the development of the MySQL related software products within Oracle, such as the MySQL Server, MySQL Cluster, MySQL Workbench and MySQL Enterprise Monitor. Prior to working with MySQL he has a background in the telecom industry, working for the Swedish telecom operator Telia and Telecom vendor Ericsson. He has a Masters degree in Computer Science and Applied Physics from Case Western Reserve University and a PhD in Computer Science from the Royal Institute of Technology.
