managing capacity and growth for a huge mysql instance provides a unique set of challenges. This will cover high level details about how to track server growth, what metrics should inform growth forecasts / purchase decisions, how to filter through noise, lessons learned from practical examples, and how to do it all while still managing to get some sleep at night.

Also covered will be operational optimizations that can be tied into managing growth such as server defragmentation and mysql and /or OS upgrades. (and how to incorporate these into growth models).
