Horizontal Scaling using PostgreSQL 9

The new PostgreSQL feature which makes everyone excited about version 9.0 is binary replication, otherwise known as Hot Standby / Streaming Replication. Many users are still not quite sure how to set it up, however. Further, while binary replication is easy to use in its simplest configuration, incorporating it into high performance, high-availability systems can be somewhat baffling.

Josh Berkus and other members of the PostgreSQL experts staff will walk attendees through setting up Hot Standby and Streaming Replication in various configurations in order to give them a thorough grounding in how the new replication works and how to manage it. This tutorial will involve hands-on exercises, visual aids, and audience participation.
