How to Choose High Availability Solutions for MySQL

When it is time to choose a High-Availability solution for MySQL, the number of solutions can lead to confusion. This session will help you make sense of it all. The various HA solutions for MySQL will be presented and the following criteria will be considered:

  • potential in terms of availability
  • complexity
  • limitations
  • potential for scalability

The solutions that will be covered are: Replication, Heartbeat/SAN, Heartbeat/DRBD and NDB Cluster. Hybrid solutions, and using a mix of solutions will also be discussed.
