In this session, you will learn how Japanese SIer succeeded use MySQL as core database of financial system and what are key points of designing mission critical system with MySQL.Nomura Research Institute (NRI), Japanese systems integrator which is former subsidiary of Nomura Securities, has strength in financial systems. NRI developed ASP service for fund managers in bank, securities firms and asset management companies. This ASP provides functions including positions, executions and capital management. Cost effective solution was required for small-start and grow-huge ASP.
After various tests of MySQL comparing with proprietary database under the same conditions, NRI found that MySQL has same or even higher performance, stability and software quality. For high availability, NRI implemented MySQL with commercial clustering software and shared disk.
