Important Information

Exam Info

• Exams will be offered Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday.
• You can drop in between 8:30 am and 3:00 pm to take exams. The exam room will close at 4:00 pm.
• Bring a laptop as the tests will all be given over the Internet. There will be 24 hard wired ports available on a first-come-first-server basis and others will have to rely on the conference WiFi.
• A MySQL Certification Candidate ID number is required to receive any certificate earned. If you do not already have a Certification Candidate ID number from earlier exams, you must obtain one at mysql.com/certification/signup.
• You must be registered as a session or session plus tutorials conference attendee. Exams are not offered to tutorial only, exhibit hall only or conference attendee guest.

Note: A special Exam Q&A Session will be held in the Magnolia Room, Tuesday from 1:00 pm - 1:30 pm

CMDEV: MySQL 5.0 Developer I & II

• The MySQL 5.0 Developer Certification ensures that the candidate knows and is able to make use of all the features of MySQL that are needed to develop and maintain applications that use MySQL for back-end storage. Note that you must pass both of the developer exams (in any order) to attain certification.

CMDBA: MySQL 5.0 Database Administrator I & II

• The MySQL Database Administrator Certification attests that the person holding the certification knows how to maintain and optimize an installation of one or more MySQL servers, and perform administrative tasks such as monitoring the server, making backups, and so forth. Note that although you may take the CMCDBA exam at any time, you must pass both of the DBA exams (in any order) to attain certification.

NOTE: CMDBA Certification primers are being offered as tutorials during the MySQL Conference & Expo.

CMCDBA: MySQL 5.1 Cluster DBA Certification

• The MySQL Cluster Database Administrator certification exam will also be administered at the Conference. Note that you must obtain CMDBA certification before a CMCDBA certification is recognized.

CMA: The MySQL Certified Associate credential provides a foundation for further MySQL certification. Unlike other MySQL certifications, the Associate certification is not tied to any particular version of MySQL, but focuses on details of using MySQL that are universal no matter what version of the software you are using.

CMDBA 5.1 and CMDEV 5.1 are performance based exams that require the candidate to manipulate MySQL instances as directed. There will be only a limited number of virtual servers available and will be provided on a first-come-first-serve basis.

Eligibility

Certification exams are open to conference attendees registered to attend sessions. Exams are not available to Exhibit-Hall Only participants or the general public.

Payment

Online registration for the exams is available. If you register for the exams along with the conference registration, exam fees will be added to your total conference registration fees. Subject to availability, you may also register and pay for exams on-site. Note that only exams paid during conference registration are guaranteed a seat. Vouchers for exams will be handed to you when you register at the conference and are redeemed at the testing room. Location and Time All exams will be administered in the Magnolia Room on the lobby level of the Hyatt Regency Santa Clara (adjacent to the convention center). Exams will be offered Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday. You can drop in between 8:30 am and 3:00 pm to take exams. The exam room will close at 4:00 pm.

Results

Results of certification exams will be displayed on your computer screen at the end of the exam.

Re-exam Policy

Full conference attendees may elect to re-take any exams not passed for a $25 fee. There is no limit to the number of times an exam may be taken. Re-exams are ONLY offered at the Conference and may be purchased at the registration desk. Only cash or checks will be accepted onsite.

Registering for Exams

In order to attend an exam, you must bring:

• Payment voucher (obtained at the registration desk)
• Photo ID
• MySQL Certification Candidate ID number. If you do not already have a Certification Candidate ID number from earlier exams, you must obtain one at mysql.com/certification/signup.
