A walk through of all of the different HA choices, with a focus on being very clear about the strengths and weaknesses of each choice to help people pick the right one for their situation. There isn’t one Silver Bullet that solves everyone’s problems, and we’ll convey that as well.
What we will not cover (except where we have not choice) is scale out or load balancing. That’s a bit out of scope and makes the conversation more difficult. We want pre-sales types and n00bs to be able to come out of the talk more informed.
Specific tech to look at:

Monty Taylor is a Senior Consultant for MySQL. Don’t get excited, he’s not ‘that’ Monty. Monty specializes in HA solutions both with and without MySQL Cluster. He’s also the author of the NDB/Connectors for using non-C++ languages with the NDB API. When he’s not doing that, he’s an avid Python Hacker and is one of the most annoying advocates of Debian and Ubuntu you’re likely to meet. Oddly enough, he also like C# programming. (Go figure)
