Developers may enter their apps in one of two categories: * Facebook-compatible apps (Facebook, Bebo) * OpenSocial-compatible apps (MySpace, Hi5, Orkut, Friendster, Ning)
Five apps from each category will be selected to present at AppNite, and the top app in each category will win a new Apple MacBook Air portable.

Jim joined Charles River Ventures as Entrepreneur in Residence in 2007. His focus is on the consumer Internet, social networking and social media sectors.
Jim is one of the early pioneers of the social networking phenomenon, and was previously the head of business development at Friendster, and a co-founder of Bebo and served as vice president of business development and sales.
Scheinman is an attorney and entrepreneur, and has a BSc in Neuropsychology from Duke University and JD from UC Davis School of Law.
