Benjamin is the Managing Director of +8* | Plus Eight Star (www.plus8star.com), a Beijing-based consultancy focused on ‘Innovation Arbitrage’, bringing proven best practices and strategic advisory from and about the advanced Asian markets of Japan, Korea and China to clients worldwide.

Aside from its custom research projects, +8* is recognized as a leading expert on online communities and mobile innovation, and published the world’s first in-depth analysis in English on Cyworld (“Inside Cyworld”) and QQ (“Inside QQ”), respectively South Korea’s and China’s leading online communities, both recording more revenues and profit than Facebook.

Prior to founding +8*, Benjamin was a technology consultant in Tokyo, a mobile market analyst covering Japan & Korea, and a mobile SNS pioneer with NewtGames in Japan and Korea, at a time when nobody used the word “SNS”.

Benjamin has been living in Japan, Korea and China for the past 8 years and was selected among China’s Top 100 mobile industry influencers in 2007 as founder of Mobile Monday in Beijing. Benjamin is also a partner and investor in the next-gen “digital third place” service CMUNE (www.cmune.com).
