Daniel Rehn

The Playpower Foundation

Daniel Rehn is an artist, designer and scientist who is the creative director for Re:Game at the Center for Research in Computing and the Arts (CRCA) at UC, San Diego.

The Re:Game initiative, founded by Mr. Rehn, Derek Lomas and Jeremy Douglass, is comprised of several projects in the rapidly developing field of game studies including: Playpower and the Video Gameplay Database (VGDb).

Half the world lives on less than $2.50 per day and has minimal access to education. The Playpower Foundation is using a radically affordable $12 computer, based on an old video game console technology (now in the public domain) as an 8-bit platform for learning games.
